thoughts. concerns. hahahahaha.
hm. i love just being in the mood to do these things. no reason to do it. no why. no one is watching. so what is the point? there is none. :) and that's why it's done.
been listening to a lot of Derek Webb recently. I say recently....ALL THE TIME. it gets a little ridonkulous sometimes but no matter. I love his views, the theology in the music. it's very true. Musically, the new album is one of the coolest, retro sound, beatles-esc sounding pieces of awesomness that is around. love it love it love it.
that being said. Why didn't he get nominated for a dove??
Because the Dove Awards is just a contest on who sold more records. Bull Crap. and thats what i have to say on that. This is not an awards show to display good music. How do I know this you may ask? Because Stellar Kart walked away with a Dove Award. that's right the one band that copied off of every secular pop-punk band of the 2000's. The same band who got reviewed by HM magazine and it basically said that the album was a laughable attempt at MUSIC. This is so aggravating. I mean we all know Chris Tomlin is going to sell more than anyone else. Ed Cash is going to produce more records and songs. But it needs to get a broader view of what is going on in the whole industry. This will probably be my goal. eh who knows.
I am very happy that Aaron Sprinkle walked away with some Doves though. I wish they were for other things than the HipHop stuff but kudos none the less.
